In 1984, I graduated from Harrison High School. Next, I attended college at NAC in Harrison and College of the Ozarks in Hollister to earn my teaching degree. While attending college, I worked full time for a local dental office. My teaching career began at Skyline Heights Elementary in Harrison, where I taught second grade for ten years. When I moved to Valley Springs, I taught fourth grade for one year and fifth grade science for five years. During this time, I completed my National Board Certification in Middle Childhood Education. My next education journey took me to Arkansas Tech University in Russellville. I completed my master's in education for school counseling and leadership to become certified as the school counselor at Valley Springs Middle School. My classmates from Cohort V at Arkansas Tech became my second family during this time.
My husband, Chris Roberts, is the middle school Study Hall teacher and a bus driver for Valley Springs. He is also the Athletic Director for the district, coaches the summer baseball program and has coached peewee basketball. We have been married 29 years and have two sons and one daughter-n-law, Jackson, Jonathan and Erica. Jackson graduated in 2012 from Valley Springs and sells cars at Clay Maxey Ford. Jonathan and his wife, Erica, are both teachers at Har-Ber High in Springdale. Our family enjoys the outdoors, fishing, and working on our farm. We raise Boer meat goats on our farm.
