I started teaching in 1990. I have taught Kindergarten, First, Second, Fourth, and Fifth grades over the course of my teaching career. I spent 2 years as the Literacy Instructional Facilitator and 2 years as the District Curriculum/Testing Coordinator before becoming the elementary principal. I am in my fourth year as the elementary principal.

I graduated in December, 1989 from the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Education. I began teaching in January, 1990 and taught in Florida until I got married. I married Tim Sherrill, a 1983 graduate of Valley Springs who played baseball for the Arkansas Razorbacks and the St. Louis Cardinals. We have been married for 28 years and have 2 beautiful children. Kayla is a graduated law school in May from the University of Arkansas School of Law and Hunter has degree in Agri Business and Marketing from the University of Arkansas. This is my 20th year at Valley Springs. I came here after teaching at Skyline Heights in Harrison and Green Forest Elementary. I received my Masters degree in 2005 from Lindenwood University and achieved National Board Certification in November, 2011. In 2014 I completed a Post Masters Certification in Building Level Administrator and Curriculum Program Administrator.
