I graduated from Tarleton State University, in Texas, with a bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies.
I recently received my master’s degree in reading from Arkansas State University.
I am certified to teach PreK-4th grades. I also hold Gifted and Talented and English as a Second Language endorsements.
This is on-going and always changing!
Although I only started working at Valley Springs in 2016, I was an elementary teacher for 10 years in Texas. I taught 9 years in 1st grade and 1 year in 2nd grade.
I taught 3 years as a 2nd grade teacher here at Valley, and now I am teaching 3rd grade!
I have been married to my husband, Blake, for 15 years. We have one son, Bryer, who is 13 years old. He attends Valley Springs Middle School and plays basketball. We also have another “child”, Sophie. She is our spoiled rotten, 5 year old Shi-Tzu.
I am so excited to now be a part of the Valley Springs community! It is an honor to teach the children in this wonderful town. I look forward to spending each day with the children and giving them guidance to make them feel safe and accepted in our classroom. I will push the children academically and challenge their thinking. My goal is to develop autonomy for each child so that they may become thriving citizens of Arkansas!
I always welcome questions and suggestions! You are your child’s main teacher and know them better than I do!
When I’m not teaching, I enjoy reading, shopping and spending time with my family.
