The 2018-2019 school year is my second year at Valley Springs. I am the Valley Springs Elementary Counselor for grade K-4.
My education career has included teaching in grades 4 and 5. I also have 8 years of experience in Gifted and Talented Education. 14 years of my career have been in counseling. I have worked with emotionally disturbed childen in an elementary alternative classroom. My career began in east central Arkansas where I taught gifted students in 4 small school districts including Clarendon, Holly Grove, Marvell and Barton. I left the state for a short period of time and taught 4th grade in Kentucky. I spent one year in the Dollarway School district when we moved back to Arkansas counseling and teaching gifted students. In 1993, we moved to Carroll County where I began teaching at Green Forest. While there, I taught 4th and 5th grade and gifted and talented. I spent 8 years as Elementary Counselor and started an alternative program for emotionally disturbed children. I also worked with high school students at Alpena in an alternative program. I was elementary counselor at Alpena for 4 years.
I have been married to my husband Tony for 33 years. I have 2 adult daughters, Nicole and Jordan. Nicole is the proud mommy of 6 energetic kiddos.
Tony and I have recently relocated to the Valley Springs area. We have a beagle named Sadie and a cat named Steve that are in charge!!
I love flea market shopping and making old things new again. Crafting is also a hobby of mine and I love to visit craft shows.
